Justin has been a threat hunter for most of his career, and he routinely participates in takedowns and supports various law enforcement agencies in tracking threat actors and roguish cyber activity. With over 15 years of experience in security product development and threat research, Justin will play a significant role in Baffin Bay Networks’ threat intelligence development going forward. In addition, Justin will be strengthening Baffin Bay Networks’ presence in the US.

“The Baffin Bay Networks team is thrilled to welcome Justin on board,” said Joakim Sundberg, founder and CEO at Baffin Bay Networks. “Justin’s experience is invaluable for our continued journey and it will take us one step closer building the world's best Threat Protection platform.”

“Baffin Bay Networks recognises that building a successful cyber security product is about more than just stopping malicious traffic; it’s also about providing continued value to the customers, and that’s one of the reasons this opportunity really appealed to me,” said Justin Shattuck. “I’m looking forward to be part of something new and disruptive and continuing to fight the good fight.”

Justin has a strong track record in finding security blunders and data leakages, one of the more noted ones was when he stumbled upon cellular gateways leaking information that could be exposing critical infrastructure to risk. These gateways were used to connect emergency services, including law enforcement vehicles. He talked about this issue of cellular gateway flaws for IoT in a session at the 2018 Black Hat USA security conference.

Prior to being the Principal Threat Researcher at F5 Labs, Justin was the Manager of Product Development for F5 Silverline.
